This past Christmas, the Zebulon Police Department,
spearheaded the first Shop with
a Cop Program. The program was designed to assist those less
fortunate during the
holiday season.
The Police Department was able to adopt 5 Zebulon families,
thus making their Christmas
Holiday far more festive. With assistance from Mr. Jeff
Woodard at Zebulon’s East
Regional Center, we identified several needy families who
resided within our town.
Officers from the Police Department conducted home visits
with the families to try to
determine the extent of their need. We were able to provide
the 5 selected families
with funds to buy food, toys, and food for the Christmas
Dinner.
Some examples of those helped was a single mother with 5
children, a family of three
where the father has recently lost his job, and a mother who
has just escaped a violent
and abusive relationship.
Funding for this program was made possible
by private money raised by The
Enforcers
Motorcycle Club
and Scoot Works, Inc. both
of Zebulon.
