Wayne Chapman

“Graywolf ”
January 13,
1946 - December 9, 2006
Graywolf was a Vietnam veteran with two tours in country, serving in the U.S.
Air Force. He retired as a Master Sgt after 20 years.
About 6 years ago I met him when he was President of the Blue Knights in Ft.
Myers, Florida.
He later moved over to the Enforcers as Vice-President in Lee County and I
followed him over. We became good friends and I soon learned that he had
cancer. It was hard to believe it because he was so full of life, always
smiling and glad to kick his leg over his bike. He later told me he had
two years to live but you would never have known it. At the beginning of
each ride we would always wait for Graywolf to show up because we knew we would
be greeted by a huge smile, a booming voice and a John Wayne walk. He
would hug you tight, slap your back and we all felt good Graywolf was here.
When we talk of brotherhood it is Graywolf who comes to mind, he was a man's man, a friend to all and always eager to help another brother. He loved his colors and rode all over the country wearing them. Several years passed by and it became sort of a joke with all of us that he kept saying he had only two years to live. It was impossible that he would one day leave us, Graywolf would outlive us all. All you had to do was watch him as he did Karoke singing some Johnny Cash song in that inimatable deep voice of his and you could see his zest for life.
Graywolf moved to the mountains to ride and those of us in the Smoky Mountain Chapter couldn't wait for him to join us, but it was not to be. His health started to fail as soon as he got settled in. We made several trips to see him and he would always say that as soon as the pain went away he would be on his bike, always putting on a brave front. Graywolf died December 9th, 2006
We shall miss you Graywolf, we pray your spirit is riding all over the mountains so that way you will always be riding with us. God Bless You.
