Enforcers MC Welcomes Home Cape Coral Soldier
Erika Downey, 19, center, salutes a group of veterans and motorcycle riders after they greeted her upon her return home after serving 15 months in Iraq. To her left is Leann Hebert and to her right is her mother Barbara Desmond. More than 30 people from the Special Forces Motorcycle Club, Gold Wing Road Riders, Patriot Guard Riders, The Enforcers MC, The Defenders, the Vietnam Brotherhood and the Brothers of the Third Wheel came to greet Downey at her family's request. "I knew you were up to something, but not this big of something," Downey said to her mother Barbara Desmond after the surprise.

Helps Raise Money
For Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
On Saturday May 2, 2009, a beautiful day for a ride, the Alachua Chapter of The
Enforcers MC had our first annual benefit ride for The Intrepid Fallen Heroes
Fund (IFHF). For those not familiar with the IFHF, this organization provides
financial support to the families of military personnel lost in service to our
nation as well as severely wounded military personnel and veterans. Since
2003 the IFHF has generously given more than $65 million in aid. The ride
started at Gainesville Harley-Davidson and Buell where 129 riders and passengers
signed up. Kevin and the crew, as always, were a great help. The first stop was
in Newberry at West End Liquors. We had a pile of raffle prizes to give away.
Many thanks to Mo and Susan.. From there we headed west to The Dawg House Saloon
in Fanning Springs. Patty, Amy and Greg had us covered with some snacks and cold
drinks. After the raffle it was a nice long ride to High Springs and Billy's
Santa Fe Bar. We had a few of The Gainesville Chrome Divas helping ;our ladies
with ticket sales at sign up and throughout the ride. Thank you ladies. When the
raffle prizes were gone, it was south-bound and down to Gainesville. The end of
the ride party was at The Eagles Club. Any old Gainesville people (I'm including
myself) remember it as Dubs. Fetching Pennies Band played for all of us while
the great folks with the Eagles were grillin' up steak dinners. At the end of it
all $1300 was raised for the charity and a good time was had by everyone. Thanks
again to all the stops and all our sponsors for helping to make our first ride a
success.
